Ancient Healing
This mind-body connection was actually recognized in ancient times. It is said that there was an ancient healing potion made from “mumiah,” which is a kind of mineral resin that flows from a certain grotto in what was southern Persia. When someone had broken his bones, or was frightened, he was given some mumiah dissolved in a liquid. In other words, this potion was applied for both physical and emotional distress.

And the word “mumiah” even became associated with the angel of health and longevity. It was the name given to that particular angel in the secret books of mystical writings. The angel Mumiah was believed to grant health and longevity and to be able to suspend physical laws to create miracles. Mumiah symbolized unlocking the secrets of nature to find cures for all afflictions that needed healing.

The Healing Light of the Angels

Angels are literally creatures of light. This light brings warmth and peace and knowledge. It “enlightens.” When we call upon the angels for health, their light can provide healing not only of physical pain, but also a healing of the mind, heart, and spirit. Their healing light can help you understand and deal with those issues that distress you. There is a greater wisdom being communicated as well, to help put you back in balance again. There are many stories, current and legendary, about the mysterious healing that has come from angels.

A Child’s Healing

For example, not too long ago, a young girl, six years old, had a serious case of pneumonia. After a stay in the hospital, she was brought home, but didn’t seem to improve. One night, she suddenly woke up to find her room filled with light. She was so weak that she could barely even feel afraid. She glanced out the window, but all was dark outside. When she looked back into the room, she saw an even more defined light coming from the center of the brightness.

It moved toward her and seemed to stand beside her. As it did, she felt all her fear released, and she was filled with a sense of love and warmth and such good feeling that she didn’t know how to describe it. What she felt most of all was an overwhelming feeling that everything was going to be alright. As she was filled with this “light,” it gently moved back to the center of the room and then gradually disappeared. The next morning, when she awoke, her fever had gone.

The Legend of Cuthbert

In medieval times, there was a monk named Cuthbert, who from a small age was able to see and converse with angels. He lived at the abbey of Jervaulx. It so happened that he developed the gout in his knees, from kneeling upon the cold stones when he said his prayers. His knees began to swell and the sinews of his leg seemed to shrink, so he was unable to walk or even stretch out his leg. But he was very patient and said, “When it pleaseth our Lord, it shall pass away.”
One day, his fellow monks had carried him out into a field, to have the benefit of the open air. Cuthbert suddenly became aware of a man on horseback approaching. His garments were white and shining, and even his horse shone as well. The stranger stopped in front of Cuthbert and saluted him. He jokingly asked if Cuthbert wasn’t going to welcome him in a proper way, befitting his dignity. Cuthbert said he would be most ready to do so, except that “for my sins, I am held by this infirmity. I have long had this painful swelling in my knee, and no physician has yet been able to heal me.” The man dismounted his horse and looked at Cuthbert’s knee. He said, “Boil some wheaten flour in milk, and apply the poultice warm to the swelling, and you will be well.” The man mounted his horse and then seemed to disappear. Cuthbert did as the man said, and was healed. He then realized he had met with an angel.

A Double Healing

The author Eileen Elias Freeman tells a story of a friend who experienced the healing of angels. Her friend was an active woman, the mother of a large family, and painting had been one of her passions. However, she suffered from a broken arm that wouldn’t heal. Her spirits were very low as a result, and she became depressed. And the doctors couldn’t offer much more hope. They told her that if it eventually healed, it would still be very weak.

One night as she sat in the living room trying to read to distract her mind from the pain, she prayed for an angel to help heal her. When she did, she felt her spirits lift, and a sense of calmness and reassurance filled her heart. All of her fear and depression were banished. The woman took it as a sign that her arm would eventually heal.

The next evening as she was trying to relax in her living room, she again prayed for help. Suddenly, she felt a sense of heat and warmth in her arm. She described it as if someone had touched her with a hot finger and the sensation had swelled throughout her arm. When the sense of heat faded, she was no longer in pain. When she went back to the doctor for more X rays, they showed that the bone had knitted completely.

Healing Distress

A young man told his story of how his distress was healed. He had left his home, friends, family, and all he cared about in the UK to take a job in the US. After his arrival, he lay awake for several nights in his new empty home, feeling terribly alone and unhappy. He had serious doubts about whether he had done the right thing and was anxious about his new job. Not being able to sleep, he got up and sat on his sofa, simply filled with despair.

Suddenly he felt an incredible energy filling the room. It seemed like a force of love, wrapping him in an intense protection. It felt to the young man like being a small child who was lost and then found by his mother, enfolded in loving arms. He felt a renewed strength and a sense of being uplifted. After a short time, the energy subsided, and he went to bed and fell into a deep sleep. When he awoke the next morning, he felt full of energy and his love for life had returned.
