Dogs are born under the signs of loyalty and anxiety. They stand firm by their beliefs and put their heart into good causes such as fighting for injustices and helping the unfortunate. This species strives to uphold honor and fairness.

Dogs are frank, to the point and deal with life directly. While they can be stubborn at times, they listen to others' views and will gladly offer assistance to those in need. It is no surprise that Dogs are admired for their integrity. They are loyal and trustworthy to those around them, but if they ever feel rejected or let down by someone, they rarely forget.

Those born under this sign are generally a good judge of character, They have quick alert minds and usually keep calm during crises, They can, however, show their tempers.

They do well in professions where they serve others such as social services, teaching and medical and legal professions. It is important that they feel motivated by their work, otherwise they loose interest or tend to flounder. Once motivated, they are unstoppable.

Dogs do have a tendency to worry unnecessarily and to view life pessimistically. This behavior can lead to a Dog's downfall.

Dogs are not materialistic, nor are they concerned with the accumulation of wealth. They strive to acquire the money necessary to support the family. However, when they do have money, they can be spendthrifts. They are advise Dogs can be good conversationalists and story tellers; however on the whole, they tend to prefer intimate social situations over large ones. They are usually surrounded by others, but they are difficult people to live with. They can be moody and have a tendency to set standards too high.

They will strive to be good providers for their partners and they get on well with those born under the sign of the Horse, Pig, Tiger and Monkey. They also get along well with children and can be loving parents.

Dogs can lead active lives being surrounded by friends and spreading a lot of good deeds. But they need to curtail their tendency to worry.

Hello!!! Dogs are not materialistic? When combined with a Taurus, they do seek material means. Well who doesn't? However, the dog will do all that is possible to make things possible!

Enjoy the trials of the Dog,and look ever higher. Know your enemies, friends will prove themselves. Never allow fretting about tomorrow, and miss today's gifts. Defend unmercifully, and allow the Universe to carry the message far and wide.
Love yourself as well as others, but do not forget that with out selflove all other is in vain.

According to my birthdate, I should be a Rooster. I don't really see those traits in myself, however, after reading the Dog traits, it seems that it's more me...almost to a T. Is there anyway I could be in some sort of "transition" group? Any help would be appreciated. BTW, my birthday is 01/18/82. Thanks!

#9 Carrie, My husband is a Monkey, and I am a Dog. We have been married 39 years
and neither of us have ever left. He kisses and hugs me every day, so I guess it isn't that bad of a match. We all have our rough spots along the way, I think that goes for all signs. Good Luck to you and your boyfriend.

Elaine

this is sooo acurrate it is almost scary, but very intuitive
Comment #35 by Cathy on March 13, 2009
My husband is a dog. I am a rat. This is pretty accurate. He is moody, hard to live with, been married 42 years-soon to be 43, he is very stubborn, hard on himself and others. Do not cross him, he never forgets and holds a grudge forever. It is true, you are his friend or his enemy, no half way there. He has strayed and been unfaithful, but always comes back home...hard to deal with but I take him back and forgive him. He is a hoarder, won't throw anything away, that is bad because I am too.
Comment #36 by wendy on March 12, 2009
I'm parinoid-scqeetzoid,tri-polar,manic depressive. No really I have finally gotten my crazy check and on somewhat helpful meds but I do worry a lot. Gray hairs at 38. I feel like I am an alien in unfamiliar surroundings. I am an unknown artist in my own minds eye. Love to love but it's very hard for me to trust. Have two kids and think I did it totally wrong, it's like their in charge, but I love them to death. Does it matter that I was two months prematuer, does that make anything different, besides me myself and I.

Comment #38 by Nannette on March 12, 2009
My boyfriend is a Dog and I am a Rabbit. Are we a good match?
Comment #39 by Pamela on March 09, 2009
This very closely describes my personality... and so I am somewhat amazed. I do believe that I am very loyal since I have been married to a Rooster for almost 30 years but honestly I have never felt secure, and wondered many times if he is my true soulmate. Being married this long is a success that I am proud of and have worked hard to achieve, but I am not honestly sure if I can do this much longer, my children are raised and almost gone. I have this strong feeling that after this summer I will be too. Sad to have invested that much time, energy, effort into something that after all this time I can't change or control, but in order to be happy, not be under this rooster's reign any longer.
Comment #40 by Teri on March 07, 2009
I can't believe how right on this discription is of me. I work inthe medical field and do have someone over me thinking I help more than I should, but it's something of my nature to help the underdogs. My children are everything and I do have high expectations for everyone. Wow, what an eye opener.
Comment #41 by Susan on February 22, 2009
my spouse is a dog and I am a snake. I have yin he has yang. I have wood he has fire. This relationship has lasted 23 years and counting. The characteristics are right on. Its taken some work to get to this point.
Comment #42 by Roger on February 21, 2009
It's the moment of truth! Are you prepared to accept your mirror image? Yes indeed; quite on the same road...Thx Roger
Comment #43 by Dneydra on February 19, 2009
YES! This a TRUE description of myself and I am diffinately hard to live with and I am a true believer in the unjustice and always my motto " Treat others as you would have them treat you" Love my children with all my heart. There is nothing that I would not do for a person, but treat me wrong or lie and I will forget you!!
Comment #44 by LESLIE on February 15, 2009
I AM MARRIED TO A DOG AND HAVE A SON AS A DOG. MY SON IS ALOT LIKE THE DISCRIPTION BUT MY HUSBAND IS NOT . MY HUSBAND IS A PATHALOGICAL LIAR, NOT LOYAL, SPENDS ALL THE FAMILY MONEY ON CRACK BASICLY THE BIGGEST PIECE OF SHIT IVE EVER SEEN
Comment #45 by susan on February 13, 2009
wow! that's me. And yes my children are everything tome. And I'm also dating a horse, we have a special connection. And I will stand up for the under dog. Your good!! Thanks, Susan B.
Comment #46 by Lydia on February 12, 2009
Both my husband and myself are "dogs" and 2 of our 3 adult children say we are "impossible " to live with. Until reading this I thought maybe it was just them (although my feelings have been hurt) but now I'm thinking maybe it is us and there is something to this "dog" thing. We is what we is.
Comment #47 by Deborah on February 07, 2009
Yep! I have to admit that this describes me almost perfectly. It is scary.
Comment #48 by diana on February 06, 2009

Comment #53 by Jane on February 04, 2009
I am a legal secretary. Most of the traits are all mine. I am moody alot of times and dont realize it. BUT I would never ever hurt anyones feelings. I am definately a worrywort. I love people and I am generally always happy. If I am your friend, I am your friend forever. Rae
Comment #54 by Jeff on February 04, 2009

Comment #58 by ashwani on January 30, 2009
Yes. I feel the same way...like, as if I am looking myself in the mirror. but can anybody comment on it that how we can change ourselves, means to get rid of anger, being too pessimistic etc. OR SHOULD WE FORGET TO CHANGE OURSELVES. WE SHOULD REMAIN AS WE ARE....WHO CARES

Comment #59 by Pandora on January 29, 2009
The reading sound a lot like me, Its like someone living with me to know me so well. I am a very nice person, who love to listen and help others. What I want someday is to own my own business.

by Pandora on January 29, 2009
Comment #60 by Denise on January 25, 2009
I am slow to anger but when you hurt me deeply you do not even exist. I can tolerate you professionally but I will never gain your trust again. I am a Nurse but constantly hunger for more knowledge, Specialty Certification and a fierce advocate for my patients and the medically underserved. I have often lobbied for the poor relentlessly. I may earn an additional JD. Yes this is me. I am easy to live with, very diplomatic as long as boundaries are respected. I am very compassionate but don't take advantage of my good nature.
Comment #61 by Tess on December 19, 2008
Yes, it describe me, too... I am a med.sec. and I extend my help to those who needs my spiritual, emotional, financial help..but usually never get any thanks...anyway, I am forgiving but not forgetful when betrayed...God bless us...dog people!!

Comment #63 by Dan on December 09, 2008
Wow! This is a pretty accurate description of my personality. I am definitely a dog. I have all the strengths and weaknesses. Except one I do not spend I am a saver.
Comment #64 by Nancy on November 19, 2008
This is who I am love my kids but they must be A students I give my time and money freely to others. I you cross me it is over for ever.
Comment #65 by Amelia on November 04, 2008
You're either my b.f.f. or my worst enemy.I will go out of my way for just about anyone. On the other hand, if I get taken advantage of, or lose trust in a "friend", it's the end of that.I forgive but never forget. The glass is always 1/2 empty.Ya,I've been told I'm O.C.D.No money saved, always have to spend it on things for others - just because (although this generosity will never flow in my direction).Moody - doesn't discribe it, more like bi-polar.I love being a Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Comment #66 by elena on October 22, 2008
tried the professions mentioned above - the monetary rewards are not so great versus the time and devoution put into it. nevertheless, there are other areas to be exlored considering the Zidiac monthly signs and personal experience.
as for successful people born under Dog, i would add M. Jackson and Prince (i beleive). Good Luck in your adventures!!!
Comment #67 by ROMELDA on October 05, 2008
o my God this is so true i felt like i was reading about my self i love my job as a support worker but have lost interest in the company i work for GOD knows that i love my kids they are my life
Comment #68 by Shelby on October 02, 2008
this definitely describes me,I have worked in the medical field 10+ yrs. When I am pushed to the limit I explode, And I never forget when Ive been betrayed, will never trust you again and never have anything else to do with you.
Comment #69 by Vivienne Diane on September 20, 2008
I am rather an optimistic person until someone sets me into a pessimistic mood. I usually come out of it shortly.
I am a perfectionist, and a volunteer for the March of Dimes and food bank at work. I work in accounting and it Has to balance so my perfectionist comes right in.
I can definitely blow up when pushed. It takes a lot but a volcano will erupt.
Comment #70 by Ann on September 03, 2008
yes I felt the true self on reading, but I don't spend unnecessarily, but no money saved. Good deeds no return, and no appreciation..
Comment #71 by giselley on August 06, 2008
omg! I felt like I was reading myself... Like, I'm difficult to live with, When I have money I spend it quick, I'm usually very calm but if tested I could definitely blow! and I do want a profession in the medical field, I'm going to school for RN
Comment #72 by Deirdre on July 17, 2008
That perfectly describes me! even the profession as I am a social worker.
