Erotically Charge Your Bedroom with Feng Shui
By Roxanne Rhoads on January 21, 2008
You can turn your bedroom into a romantic retreat by using the ancient art of feng shui (pronounced fung shway). Feng shui is about enhancing the environment or the energy around you.

Lillian Too who has written 16 books on feng shui says:

"The structures around you also emanate energy and if these structures are placed in a harmonious fashion based on feng shui guidelines, you can attract good energy, and therefore you can attract good fortune and good luck."

Feng shui guidelines take into account compass directions, colors, natural elements like wood, minerals, fire, water, and earth and aspirations such as wealth and prosperity; recognition and fame; marriage and love; creativity and children; mentors and helpful people; career; knowledge and education; and family relationships and health.

In feng shui, romance begins in the yin (feminine) vibration of your bedroom. Excite the chi (life-force, energy) by making your bedroom romantic.

Here are some of the basic ways to erotically charge your bedroom with sex positive energy by using the guidelines of feng shui.

Remove Clutter and the Past
First of all remove all clutter so positive energy can flow throughout the room. Clutter blocks the flow of chi. You should also remove anything reminding you of past lovers. Photos, love letters, presents and gifts, anything that reminds you of the past should be removed. You might want to go as far as getting new bedding and even a new mattress, especially if you shared your current one with a long term love who is no longer part of your life.

Two of Everything
According to feng shui guidelines you should get rid of items associated with loneliness. You should not have just one of an item, not one flower in a vase, or one single photograph or one painting and definitely not one night stand. Everything should be arranged in pairs to symbolize a union. Have two candles on a dresser, two paintings on a wall, two end tables, etc. You should also avoid paintings or photos depicting one thing.

Curves, not Points
Pointy items should be avoided; they produce too much yang (male) energy. Replace pointy items with softer items representing natural curves.

No Plants and No Water
Plants, whether they are living, dried, or artificial should be avoided in the bedroom. Water is prohibited in the bedroom according to feng shui. It clashes with the fire element, the element of passion. Avoid having any water features such as fountains or fish tanks in the bedroom, also avoid any photos, painting or sculptures depicting water scenes such as waterfalls, rivers, lakes, streams, etc. Water in the bedroom can lead to financial loss and loss in a relationship.

Of TVs and PCs
Try to keep computers and televisions out of the bedroom. If you can not keep them out of the bedroom try to hide them in a cabinet or armoire that has doors that can be shut at night or cover the television and computer monitors with screens or thick cloth at night to block the yang energy that they emit. The bedroom should be full of yin energy, not yang.

Beds, Bathrooms and Other Do's and Don't's
Feng shui guidelines say the bed should be placed diagonally opposite to the entrance door. You should be able to see the door but not be in front of it.

Do not sleep with your head toward the door. Have your headboard against a sturdy wall and your bed up off the floor with nothing underneath it to impede the flow of energy.

Do not sleep next to a window because feng shui concepts say it disturbs the energies around you. You should also avoid having a mirror directly facing the bed. The mirror should not reflect the bed.

You should not be able to view your bathroom from your bed. Bathrooms should be screened or the door should remain closed. Feng shui principles suggest bathroom plumbing drains energy.

Open your curtains and let sunlight into your room during the day. Let sunlight charge your bed with positive energy.

Keep all exercise equipment out of the bedroom. According to feng shui the bedroom is not the place for the excitement and flow of yang energy used during exercise.

Women should avoid filling the bed with lacy pillows, dolls, and stuffed animals. The bed should be comfortable but uncomplicated.

Feng shui suggests including materials derived from animals such as fur, leather, and wool. Do not use polyester or other synthetics. For your bedding you should use natural cotton or silk.

Color and Passion!
Feng shui places a lot of emphasis on color selection and use. Stay away from cool colors in the bedroom such as blues, grays, whites, and blacks. Warm colors are best for the bedroom such as browns, beiges, reds, apricots and yellows. Red, the color of love and passion, is best for sexual energy. Yellow is also another very good color for the bedroom because it symbolizes communication.

Now for the Serious Stuff!
For an erotic bedroom incorporate the fire element of feng shui by using candles and oil lamps.

The bedroom should be an erotic retreat fro a couple. Display photos of the two of you doing things together. Avoid having too many photos of friends or family members. The bedroom is a private place, the children and in laws should not be involved.

To enhance the sexual energy in your bedroom with feng shui, use the right hand corner (from the entrance) of your bedroom to display symbols that activate the energy of love, such as a photograph of you and your loved one, a sculpture of lovers, or two sculptures, a heart shaped object, a crystal prism, a mobile, or a sensual painting.

Enhance the passionate energy in your room with objects and paintings in shades of red, pink, and garnet.

Feng shui principles suggest placing a red object on the female night stand to increase eroticism in the female partner. On the male?s night stand place a tiny jar of copper scraps or something made of copper. Copper represents the male essence and enhances eroticism to its fullness.

To preserve sexual receptivity place a ruby or garnet on or hanging over the night stand. These stones are very energizing and powerful in attracting the opposite sex.

By incorporating these principles of feng shui in your bedroom you can create an erotically charged romantic retreat to attract a new lover or recharge the energy in eroticism in a relationship. Even if you can not apply every principle of feng shui into your bedroom, try to use as many as possible to get the erotic energy flowing.

I would like to know which way the bed should face in a bedroom? West, north, south or east and how can you tell. The bed should be perhaps behind a door but away frm the door. Bearing in mind some places of living is quite small so space is a preimum.

Thanks

Since my husband's passing, I have removed almost everything associated with his energy.

I do have an oval mirror facing north but you cannot view the bed in it either standing nor lying down. All that is visible in the mirror are the plant and the two candle holders.

I have added a pair of candle holders designed in a half crescent shape w/a leaf pattern. A single hanging plant has replaced the lamp which hung on my husband's side of the bed.

I have a two part dresser set and a single small storage cupboard I use for storing odds and end such as my books etc., it is not visible since it is behind the bedroom door.

There is one window at the foot of the bed and on that same wall is an art sketch of Christ which was drawn by a friend.

I do have a very small TV and a vase with a variety of flowers and bullrushes on one dresser otherwise nothing else.

My window faces the door and my feet face south end of the bed at the entrance door to the room, my head faces north when I sleep. My questions is, should I be replacing the hanging plant and the flowers/bullrush arrangement? Also, the room is square and small and the furniture can only be positioned in this way.

Please respond to this comment.

I love Feng shui and have used it through out all my houses for years, (I have lived in alot of houses). My friends have always commented on the great vibes from my places. And if it looks like the energy is draining I move the furniture (energy flow) around again. This also helps keep the place looking neat, refreshed, different and clean. My advise would be. Get some good books on this subject study them and do what ever it takes to get you and your home/place FEELING right.. After a while of doing this you will start to automatically know where to put things. I does work....

I have recently moved into a new apartment. Years ago I bought a book on Feng Shui. I believe the time is now here for me to use it. I have always lived with others, or a guy friend never alone. I shall try to find something in my book about being afraid, or afraid to live alone.I hope I can find something in there, it is a very big book.

Love in a romantic relationship is best appreciated if the spiritual energy of passion is reflected between the lovers, this emotion once is felt will rock the bare bottom of anyones head and body achieving pleasure beyond the wildest imagination of excitement, taking you to new frontiers even with longterm partners. Experience the Love in you.
Live for Love & Love will grow abundantly in everything you do

In my bedroom, can I keep fresh flowers
in several vases with water inside ?
Since everything (desk, ancestors shrine) is in the same bedroom, I need
fresh flowers to enhance some spots.
Thank you for your reply.

My bed is in between two windows and I understand this is not good for your health to have the chi move over my bed being between two windows. So I put a tall plant in front of one window. But now I'm not to have plants in the bedroom. Does it matter or count if I have sheer curtains covering the windows?

Re: Comment #7: You loved your husband, but it's time to move on... live your life to the fullest. Your loved one would want it this way. Are you ready to move on? Find a new soul mate? Get back into the world? IF SO: move your beloved pictures to the right side - middle area of your home. Along side of your other loved one. Friends. Family. Community activities. Respect the past. Look to the future. Recharge your bedroom. Feminine & masculine items. Things in twos. Like 2 night stands, just keep your stand with your items, add something red, on the other, leave a lamp and something mascline. Look around the house, maybe you can find something, not of the ex-loved one, but something that represents the type of man your looking or place a tiny jar of copper scraps or something made of copper. Keep the lights on for 3 hours a day. Keep it clean. Maybe hang pictures that represent love. Get out there and mingle with people that do things YOU really enjoy! Open your heart to new possibilities. Stay safe & Good Luck.

Re: Comment #8: The right side - middle section of your home is family. The left side - middle section is Children/ Creativity. Try placing your family pitures of all of you doing things together on the left, Pictures of community activites, grandparents, friends, ect. Use greens or wood accents. Group things together in 3's or 4's. Add a light and keep it lite 3 hours each day. On the right, add your games or crafts, things you can do as a family. Use metals, or whites. Make it bright and cheerful. A place where the family FEELS like gathering together. Maybe even, dare I say it ... put your Wii here. Wake up the house with lights. Colors. Music. Open the curtains. Plus: I'm curious to know where your TV room is. Good Luck!

Re: Comment #7: Prosperity. Each floor of the house is always set according the the Baigua/ BaGua. Even if it is in the corner of your bedroom. Place the colors: blue, purple or red here. Wind chimes. Minerals, or candles or two beautifully colored lights. Keep it lite for atleast 3 hours each day.Keep it clean. Maybe, place a coin jar here and add some change everyday. Prosperity not only represents wealth, but comfort too. Add the green, thriving plants on another floor. If you have a bathroom in this section, keep the lid down, the door shut and cover the drains to keep your prosperity from flowing down the drain. Good luck!

Re: Comment #6 - Lillian Too has alot of books onthe subject of Feng Shui - that are easy to under stand. ALSO: Feng Shui Made Easy by Spear. OR Susan Hilton's The Fung Shui of Abundance is good. You can also try Goggling "Feng Shui" images for a simple Baigua/ BaGua Chart or the Top Hat form of Feng Shui. I recommend numerous books to clients, and make this simple suggeston. Keep it simple! Choose colors or items that represent the changes you want to make. Try finding a colorful Baigua chart and start from there. Good luck!

CAN I PLACE A MIRROR BEHIND MY BED?
Comment #51 by CANDA on February 02, 2009
Dear Frank, acording to Feng Shui - you should not sleep with your head beneath a window or your feet to the door. Sorry, but feet go out the door first, when you are carried out, at the end of your life-span. Try to position your bed against a solid wall, you could even put it sideways to the window with a nice Oriental screen that hangs from the ceiling. No sharp corners towards you. Sleeping with your head facing a certain direction does affect your sleeping/dream/waking patterns patterns. East, rise early. West, vivid dreams, etc.

I'm using Feng shui a lot, renovating my apartment just now. In bedroom I'm placing everything in couples, also colours are good, even the matress is one, big, with no "stripes" between sleeping areas. Lots of soft materials, round shapes..
I have a question about the wall lamps. They are made of metal with hanged glass. Is this considerate as fire (light), metal (material of the lamp) or water (glass "tears")?
Thank you for helping.
