Greetings to all who are reading my first messsage to you. I am grateful for the opportunity to facilitate this blog site, and look forward with anticipation to our interactions with one another.
You may want to read the background page about me on this website so you can have a better idea of who I am and my connection to prayer.
Each day is a precious gift to us from Creator. Even if a certain day brings difficulties and troubles to deal with, then it is all the more necessary to direct our hearts and minds to prayer.
Just the word “help” is sufficient enough to connect to God, especially if we are feeling overwhelmed. I find it comforting to trust that somehow, somewhere there is a benevolent Being who is listening and paying attention to my needs and wishes.
Someone sent me an email with a quote that was very intriguing to me. It said, “God always answers our prayers. The answers are, 1)’Yes’, 2) ‘Maybe’, and 3) ‘I have something better in mind for you’.” I think of these words when I am counseling a client or comforting a friend who is experiencing difficulties in their life.
Notice that the word “no” is not included in this quote. I think this is important because it says to me that our prayers are always answered even if the outcome is different from what we had been expecting. To me this is a more uplifing way to look at our connection to God than to say, “My prayer was not answered” or “God isn’t listening to me”.
I will gladly share some of my stories of answered prayer with you for myself and others in this blog site. I hope you will be willing to do so also. |
