Is your House is Haunted? Here are 6 Signs that Your House is Haunted
Professional Ghost Hunters, Ron and Nancy Stallings, say it’s easy to tell if your house is home to a ghost.
Any one of these 6 signs can be a sure message of a haunting. Often if you have one, you have more than one. Here’s what she says you should look for in your house:
1. STRANGE FEELINGS.
“Sometimes the house feels very depressing, or the atmosphere in the house feels very thick and heavy. Often people feel that they’re not alone.
“They feel like they’re being watched, but they don’t see anything,” said Mrs. Stallings.
If you have these feelings you may be sensing a ghost.
2. WEIRD SOUNDS.
“Often there are raps or knocks on the walls in series of threes – like three, six or nine raps. People hear walking, like footsteps,” she added.
“A lot of people hear kitchen cabinets or cupboard doors opening and closing. Some people hear music, glass breaking or bells ringing.”
3. UNUSUAL SMELLS.
“These odors can be like perfumes or flowers – very sweet smelling. Some ghosts seem to be accompanied by a terrible stench. Usually, these are negative ghosts and they’re pretty nasty,” she said.
4. STRANGE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.
Sometimes objects, like silverware, will drop from nowhere or stones will fly around the house. “Lights go off and on. The house and furniture shake violently, as if you’re having your own personal earthquake.”
5. STRANGE BEHAVIOR BY PETS, ESPECIALLY DOGS.
If it’s an unfriendly ghost, dogs will growl or seem to cower at nothing.
If a friendly ghost appears, “the dog will start wagging its tail and sit there calmly like someone is petting it.”
6. GHOSTLY IMAGES.
Sometimes you can actually see the ghost – luminous, misty balls or figures that seem to float through the air.
Some people see twinkling lights in blue, orange or amber. Some people see parts of a ghost, like an arm or leg, materialize.
“It will appear solid, like flesh,” said Mrs. Stallings.
The most conclusive evidence that your house is haunted is if you can snap a photograph of the ghost – or even tape-record it.
“Use a brand-new tape and put your recorder on record,” Mrs. Stallings suggested. “Play it back and you’ll be surprised. A lot of times you’ll get voices.”
