For most of us when we are “on a diet,” we can’t help but think about the day we will “eat again”. This is NOT a good strategy for long-term success.....
Hi I was wondering if you know of something healthy for Aniexty and panic attacks. I suffer so bad with this and I do not want to go on alot of pills from Doctor's any advise thanks Deborah...
As promised in my last blog, I will review a variety of popular diets. Many of you have asked about the “blood type” diet, which is an eating plan for general health based on whether you are A, B, AB or O from the book Eat Right 4 Your Type. The author reports, for example, that B people are the only ones who can thrive on dairy products. He also says that those who followed this eating plan for one month or more had significant improvement in a variety of health conditions including weight loss. I tried it many years ago and quite frankly experienced no weight loss, nor any other benefits. But, that’s not to say it would not work for you. To read more, click below......
We often hear that you need to eat fewer calories than you use to lose. Well, that’s true, but also not true. If you eat too little, your body won’t have enough calories to burn the fat and also will go into starvation mode, thus conserving energy by slowing down your metabolism. The higher your metabolism rate, the faster you burn calories – the slower, the less you burn. So eating less is not always the answer.
I have always had a problem with weight until about 8 months ago and I started with taking all sugar, white flour, pastas, pots, anything that had sugar, or white flour then I got on this wonderful products that started putting this wonderful healthy nutrition into my body and guess what happened?? Many of you have commented on this blog about wanting to lose weight, to investigate different types of diets, and to maintain a healthy weight through good eating habits. I’d love to explore these issues with you and share my tips on how to succeed – I’ve done it myself. Because I’ve been there, and no matter how you’ve struggled, I can help you reach your goals, but I’d like to have a better idea of what these goals are. So, I would like you to consider the questions below that fit your circumstance and then think about how important losing weight actually is to you?
Are you eating the right protein and how much do you really need?
I was shocked to learn that the average person only needs about 1.5 to less than 3 ounces of protein a day, an amount that is determined by bodyweight. So someone weighing 140 pounds would require about 2.25 ounces. How much do we all gobble down? Way more than that I am sure. So why do most of us have to eat a large amount of protein at every meal and at the same time consume protein bars and drinks, which are filled with sugar and preservatives just to get more of what we don’t need? There is definitely something wrong with this picture.
Think outside the salad bowl when it comes to eating your veggies. Instead of cooked veggies on your diner plate, how about going raw? Aside from cooking away many vitamins and minerals, you are also destroying vital enzymes.
My recent blog “What’s More Important, Exercise or Nutrition?” received so many interesting comments that I decided to investigate the topic further. And while doing that, I began to wonder if the question could actually be answered.
What's more important: getting proper nutrition or exercising?
It’s a tough call, but I say that moving the body comes in first – hands down. Here’s why. Lack of exercise is a major cause of premature aging and degenerative illness such as heart disease and arthritis. Whereas any form of exercise, dissipates stress – a major cause of disease and death. When you get moving, your body can release more toxins through increased circulation to the kidneys and through perspiration.
