It’s What You Mix With It That Counts Honey by itself is a wonderful healing remedy, but what truly excite me are the healing combinations you can make with honey.
Mix it with garlic Garlic mixed with honey is dynamite for any infection whether it be viral, bacterial or fungal. Honey kills bacteria, and garlic gets everything else. You can mix a small amount of honey with a garlic oil mixture to sweeten the taste.
Garlic Oil Mixture Place 8 ounces of peeled, minced garlic in a jar with enough olive oil to cover. Close and let sit for 3 days, shaking occasionally. You may wish to strain the oil through cheesecloth and then store in a cool place and mix with honey.
Honey-Garlic Salve Honey makes a perfect medium to mix with garlic to apply to the skin for rashes or fungal infections. Simply chop the garlic in very small pieces, mix with a little honey and apply it to the skin.
Red pepper makes a fine rub Cayenne is also a powerful germ killer and a warming spice. It is used to stop the pain of shingles. Cayenne pepper can be used as a rub for sore muscles. If you mix a little cayenne pepper with honey, the sticky honey keeps the cayenne in place. Just cover with a cloth to keep the stickiness where it belongs.
Ginger rubs, too Ginger compresses also help aches and pains, and what better way to apply them than in a mixture of honey that will stick to the skin?
The miracle cure Extraordinary claims are made for the benefits of taking a combination of apple cider vinegar, honey and garlic. Studies have been conducted on each ingredient, showing that each individually has remarkable healing properties. To make the Miracle Cure, use one cup of garlic, peeled and cut up small. Place it in a glass jar with two cups each of apple cider vinegar and honey. Cover and keep in the refrigerator for five days, shaking occasionally. You can either take it by the spoonful or mix it with juice or tea.
