Quick, easy and divine desserts to impress holiday guests
The holidays are a time for gathering together with family and friends and enjoying delicious food. But when you are deciding what to serve or bring to your next celebration, don't feel that you have to toil away in the kitchen for hours or even break the budget to provide tasty treats for your guests.

For your next celebration, allow yourself to get wrapped up in the joyful spirit. Here are some tips that will save you some time:

*Prepare food in advance
Many meals can be prepared days, sometimes weeks, in advance. Prepare anything that can be refrigerated or frozen and have it ready for the day of your party.

*Keep the menu simple
Not all recipes require elaborate directions. Find recipes that you know you will be able to execute that do not require a list of ingredients. Many times, you do not need a large assortment of ingredients to create a lot of flavor. Some basic ingredients to keep on hand that will help you prepare include spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, seasonal fruit like apples and pears, and nuts and crackers for guests to snack on.

This year, put a new twist on the traditional starter and impress guests with a quick and tasty treat.  Highlight the essence of the holidays with a unique flavor combination sure to please any palate like Raspberry Apple Danish Spread on new Ritz Brown Sugar Cinnamon Crackers - a delicious blend of the flaky, buttery Ritz you love and the sweet taste of brown sugar and cinnamon.

Raspberry Apple Danish Spread

Prep time: 10 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes
Makes: 1 1/2 cups (12 servings)

Ingredients:
   -   1 8-ounce package PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, softened
   -   1 apple, chopped
   -   2 tablespoons seedless raspberry jam
   -   1/3 cup granola
   -   Ritz Brown Sugar Cinnamon crackers

Instructions:
Heat oven to 350 F. Spread Neufchatel cheese onto bottom of 9-inch pie plate or 15 by 10 by 1 inch pan. Combine apples and jam; spread over Neufchatel cheese. Top with granola. Bake 20 minutes or until heated through. Serve with crackers.

Variation:
To serve as a cracker topper instead, spread 60 Ritz Brown Sugar Cinnamon Crackers with cream cheese. Combine apples and jam; spoon onto crackers. Top with granola. Place in a single layer in shallow casserole pan. Bake at 350 F for five minutes or until warmed.
