The Magical Mystery Cure
Have you ever had the experience of walking past a restaurant and suddenly smelling the wonderful aroma of garlic wafting through the air?  Like me, you probably inhaled a little deeper and went to investigate what was cooking.

Happily, garlic is one of the healthiest foods you will ever find at the grocery store.  I call it the “magical mystery cure” because the results it achieves are truly amazing.  Yet just how its secret ingredients work defies explanation.  Never mind—just pass the garlic!

Heal Thyself!
Garlic contains vitamins A, C and E, as well as zinc, calcium, copper, iron, potassium and selenium.  But its true magic ingredient seems to be a compound called allicin.  This mysterious natural formula has healing power akin to penicillin.

Volatile oils — the same oils that cause garlic’s pungent scent to linger long after the cooking’s done — are beneficial to the heart and colon and also combat arthritis, candidiasis, tuberculosis and circulation problems.

Another ingredient, methyl allyl trisulfide, dilates blood vessel walls and lowers blood pressure and serum cholesterol.  Garlic also contains sulphur, a product often used in the past to kill worms and parasites.

Maria A Ancira.

I am vegetarian. I have extensive knowlegde about fresh fruits and vegetables.

It is my habit to eat at least a clove of garlic 3 times a week.

I could do it more than once and everyday -- however; I do not do it cause when I overeat raw garlic, my body smells.

I work in close office and my leads and co-workers are always around me.

I am 49 years old lady without medical bills (I do not get sick) Thank God!!!!

I just visit my doctor yearly for regular women check ups :-)

Garlic is one of my favorites vegetables I most have around me.

God Bless you..........................................................................................................................................................................................

My 16 yr old son and I caught a virus and it was going around his school lasting for 4 to 7 days. we couldn't hold down anything we ate and were miserable with flu symptoms. I usually make homemade chicken soup when a cold or flu hits us...I never used garlic in my soup, but this time I did. And it gave my recipe much more flavor. We were feeling better the next day...so our illness only lasted 2 1/2 days. I believe the garlic helped fight the virus. I will use it in most of my recipes for now on!!!

I cut the top off of a garlic clove, pour a teaspoon of extra light virgin olive oil into the clove, wrap it with aluminum foil and cook it while I'm grilling for about 35 minutes. After it cools, you squeeze out a garlic paste that enlivens hamburgers, spaghetti sauce, what have you without the bittle garlic taste.
